The US economy is poised to beat expectations in 2025

Goldman Sachs

The world’s largest economy is forecast to outperform economist expectations again next year, according to Goldman Sachs Research.

“The US economy is in a good place,” writes David Mericle, chief US economist in Goldman Sachs Research. “Recession fears have diminished, inflation is trending back toward 2%, and the labor market has rebalanced but remains strong.”

Goldman Sachs Research predicts US GDP will grow 2.5% on a full-year basis. That compares with 1.9% for the consensus forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg.

The MBREDC Industry Awareness Class News
The Industry Awareness Class Day 2

began at the Myrtle Beach International Airport with a behind-the-scenes tour of the airport in action. The class saw everything from the specially designed cargo belts that accommodate golf bags to the control center where everything is monitored.

The next stop was the HGTC International Culinary Institute where we learned about classes available and enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by students. Thank you to our guest speaker, Jimmy Gray with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, who spoke about the importance of the 1% sales tax.

Myrtle Air ServicesPIA, and Executive Helijet taught us all about working on airplanes, the training needed, and how to become a pilot. There are so many job opportunities available in this industry.

We ended the day at Control Solutions Group learning about all the innovative ideas in metal works.

Visit along with us each month to learn about industries in our community. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and an interview with Liz Callaway.

$500,000 grant from The Duke Endowment helping Tidelands Health improve access to health care for those in need

Tidelands Health has received a $500,000 grant from The Duke Endowment as part of a longstanding partnership to improve health and wellness across the region.

The funding will support Tidelands Community Care Network, a public-private partnership that helps break down barriers to medical care for uninsured and underinsured adults.

“Every day, we see the difference Tidelands Community Care Network makes in the lives of those we serve, and that wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing and generous support of The Duke Endowment,” said Bruce Bailey, president and CEO of Tidelands Health. “The Duke Endowment has supported the network from its start and continues to provide crucial resources and funding as we work together to improve the health and wellness of our region.”

Established in 2012 with the support of The Duke Endowment, Tidelands Community Care Network connects uninsured and underinsured residents to primary care, specialty care, affordable medication, behavioral health care, dental care, transportation and more. Since its inception, the network has served nearly 9,000 people and continues to evolve to meet the community’s needs.

“The Duke Endowment aims to improve health and reduce health disparities,” said Jay Kennedy, program officer with The Duke Endowment’s Health Care program area. “We are proud to continue to support Tidelands Health to ensure all people can access timely and appropriate health care, lead a healthy lifestyle and have their basic social needs met.”
