SelectGlobal, LLC Attends NESA Site Selection Showcase

The NESA Showcase presented vital insights into South Carolina’s thriving business climate and possibilities. SelectGlobal was delighted to meaningfully connect with economic development executives, site selectors, and enterprises looking to expand or relocate in the region.

“This showcase highlighted South Carolina’s strategic location, business-friendly policies, and skilled workforce, making it an ideal investment destination for our clients,” says Michael Edgar, SelectGlobal’s CEO & President. “We look forward to facilitating more cross-border investments.”

SelectGlobal expresses its gratitude to the organizers for providing such an interesting and entertaining event. The team hopes that South Carolina’s economic connections with overseas enterprises will continue to develop.

Thank you to Michael Edgar for visiting South Carolina and the Grand Strand to learn about all that our area has to offer businesses that are interested in relocating or expanding to our region.

Recycling is a green growth industry in South Carolina.

SC is home to over 300 recycling companies including collectors, processors, recycled product manufacturers and equipment makers. The Recycling Market Development staff at the South Carolina Department of Commerce provides business matchmaking support, administers one-on-one materials management consultation, works with existing and emerging markets for materials, and tracks the economic impact of the recycling industry.

In 2023, the SC’s recycling industry continued to grow with 10 new or existing companies, $1.75 billion in capital investments, and 2,178 new jobs, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce’s Recycling Market Development Advisory Council.

The MBREDC Industry Awareness Class

Our April class began on the South Strand at Systems Technology, specializing in electronic assembly and precision machining.

Next stop was Benjamin’s Bakery in Surfside Beach. We took a behind-the-scenes tour to learn about their bread and coffee production. They supply over 100 local restaurants!

Benjamin’s Bakery prepared our lunch (they do catering), which we took with us to Tidelands Health. After hearing about all that Tidelands offers, we took another behind-the-scenes tour to learn about the many non-medical jobs within a hospital.

We ended the day at Shade & Shutter ExpoPalmetto Shade Co, and Carolina Powder Coating, all owned by the Fergus Family. Each business was created to meet the needs of the local community. They recently celebrated 20 years!

Visit the websites of these local industries to learn more about what is being made in Horry County and the jobs they offer.

Thank you to each of these businesses for welcoming our class.

If you are interested in being part of the next Industry Awareness Class that will begin in September 2024, contact Sandra James for more information. Applications will be accepted beginning in June 2024.

Now, SGA|NW will fold under the larger firm’s GF brand to truly reflect the way the company operates and officially unite offices and services under one banner. Starting now, SGA|NW will transition to operate all its offices under the unified GF name, aligning with the larger firm’s operational structure.
