The Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation (MBREDC) leads Horry County’s efforts to increase business activity. Another key role the MBREDC plays is serving as a workforce development agency. This includes creating high-paying jobs for residents of Horry County by expanding and diversifying the local economy. One important part of the Myrtle Beach economic development plan is retaining local graduates and giving them meaningful opportunities to participate in the workforce without leaving the community. Our interests in economic development also extend to keeping the cost of living low and promoting affordable housing throughout residential areas.

We generate the buy-in of private corporations and industries to support local economic development initiatives.
