READYSC
As an integral part of the SC Technical College System, the readySC program works to provide qualifying companies with a pre-trained and productive workforce from the first day of operations.
This state-funded program offers recruitment, assessment, training development, management and implementation services to companies who are creating new jobs with competitive wages and benefits.
Each training program is customized to meet company standards. Almost without exception, readySC is provided at little or no cost to the company.

(JOBS TRAINING PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM/ WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT)
The Jobs Training Partnership Program provides employee training for new and expanding industries as well as customized skills training designed to meet the manpower needs of specific employers.
EXISTING INDUSTRY RETRAINING
South Carolina supports existing companies by offsetting a portion of the cost associated with the retraining of existing workers. The retraining must be approved and coordinated by Horry-Georgetown Technical College.

Jobs Training Partnership Program / Workforce Investment Act
- Provides employee training for new and expanding industries as well as customized skills training designed to meet the manpower needs of specific employers.
- Both on-the-job and classroom programs are available.
Training for Existing Workers
- South Carolina supports existing companies by offsetting a portion of the cost associated with the retraining of existing workers.
- The retraining must be approved and coordinated by our local technical college.
- Companies may be reimbursed up to $500 per employee per year (not to exceed $2,000 per employee over five years).
- The company must match on a dollar-for-dollar basis to qualify.
A company must submit an application to the Coordinating Council for Economic Development for consideration (a $500 application fee applies).

Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College offer a multitude of opportunities for retraining and/or educational advancement.
Horry Georgetown Technical College offers degrees and certification programs in over 60 fields of study.
