The daylong event will include local and national keynote speakers, panel discussions, breakout sessions, a local tech exposition and conclude with tours of the local area’s industry assets: The Pittsburg Institute of Aeronautics, the International Technology and Aerospace Park, and Horry Georgetown Technical College’s new Health Science facility and lab. “The Grand Strand region has a rich heritage of aviation and a growing technology presence. We are striving to promote both sectors with this unique event which we expect to attract over 150 people from across the state,” according to Jason Green, Executive Director of the Grand Strand Technology Council.
Speakers, moderators and panelists represent state government, fortune 100 private sector companies, and local institutions. A few of the organizations being represented are Boeing SC, SC Aerospace, Red Ventures Technologies, South Carolina Department of Commerce, Horry Georgetown Technical College, Tidelands Health, Horry and Georgetown County Schools, and Coastal Carolina University.
The mission of the conference is to inform registered attendees of the united vision for growth in the tech and aerospace sectors and demonstrate how these separate entities, ranging from workforce development and education, to economic development and private companies (both local and national), and government are all working collaboratively toward the growth of the region. Attendees will be equipped with actionable steps to do their part while building valuable, new connections.
