Frontier Communications Call Center Ribbon Cutting

October 10, 2012 – Just four short months ago, an announcement event was held in Myrtle Beach for Frontier Communications.  At the event, the company pledged to add a new call center to its Myrtle Beach facility and with it, 110 new jobs.

Today, we are proud to announce that not only is the call center open, but that Frontier Communications went above and beyond its jobs commitment.  Frontier created, and hired 116 employees.

“Those of us who live and work in Myrtle Beach appreciate the vitality of this community. I am not at all surprised that our call center rollout has gone so well. The community has welcomed us, and our new employees are motivated to provide our customers with great service. After all, that’s what Frontier is committed to provide,” said Tim Ruedy, Frontier Communications Area General Manager.

The new state-of-the-art, 13,000 square-foot facility is located on the third floor of the downtown Myrtle Beach Frontier building.  The call center includes a new Avaya IP phone system, 150 new computers and workstations, meeting spaces, and all new décor.  The addition of the 116 employees results in a more than $8 million direct annual economic impact to the area.

We are convinced every day that we made the right decision to choose Myrtle Beach for expansion, and we’re sure our new call center will provide exemplary customer service,” said Lynn Holmgren, VP Residential Call Center.

The Frontier Communication expansion is one of four Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation jobs announcements made in 2012 and brings the jobs total to 400 for the year.
