MYRTLE BEACH, June 2016 -‐ The Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS® (C.C.A.R.), has created an app “Open Door” which identifies area open houses by synchronizing with the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and uses GPS mapping to identify the location of open houses. The app was created as a solution to the sign ordinance enforced by Horry County which prohibits REALTORS® from using signage advertising their Open Houses, making them hard to locate.
Open Door, offered for free on both Apple and Android, was soft launched in 2015 and presently has more than 19,000 downloads. The app allows the user to search for Open House listings with basic search criteria such as price and square footage, determines nearby proximity of open houses with an “around me” feature, includes the ability to submit a property review and features a mortgage calculator.
“The app is a tremendous tool for visitors to our area who are toying with the idea of living here full time.” according to C.C.A.R. CEO, Laura Crowther. “The app provides visitors the rainy day, spontaneous option to visit Open Houses happening any given day of the week. The app leads them to REALTORS® hosting Open Houses, our best advocates encouraging new prospects to move to the area.”
