MBREDC President & CEO Josh Kay recently sat down with the Grand Stand CEO to discuss the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation and its 2016 successes and the goals for 2017.  “What we offer is a low cost, pro-business environment. Businesses look at their operating costs and their product/service sales. The difference between the two is their profit. We can help them in lower operating costs by 10-20 percent allowing businesses to maintain their current price point while realizing higher profits. Advantages for businesses in Horry County also include lower cost utilities, lower overall taxes at the state and local level, and a lower cost workforce…..In Horry County, profit is not a bad word.”

A Grand Strand entrepreneur is making waves in the craft beer industry as Growler Chill is wrapping up a very successful Kickstarter campaign.  Highlighted as the first-ever refigerated countertap for standing growlers, Growler Chill is the best thing to happen to craft beer since pretzels!  Check out their Kickstarter campaign which ends on February 28th and support a local entrepreneur.

You cannot sell out of an empty wagon.  The MBREDC and its partners are continually working together to identify and develop industrial properties, including sites, parks, and buildings.  Working in conjunction with the SC Department of Commerce and their in-house property database (LocateSC), public and private partners are able to list economic development properties for companies, developers, and consultants from around the world to view.
