Encompass Health/Tidelands Health Joint Venture to Create New Jobs and Invest $23M to Build Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Horry County

 

MYRTLE BEACH, SC –Encompass Health Corporation and Tidelands Health announced today that their joint venture is advancing its plans to build and operate a new 46-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Little River, South Carolina.

 

The new Little River inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be located off Highway 9 and will represent an investment of approximately $23 million in the community. The Encompass Health/Tidelands Health joint venture may hire up to 134 employees over the next five years to staff the Horry County hospital including nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers and other support service positions. Construction on the new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Little River, South Carolina is expected to commence in spring 2018, and the joint venture will begin operations in the Little River hospital following completion of construction and receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals.
