Josh Kay

President & CEO

As President and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation, Kay leads business recruitment efforts, existing industry development, and growing the organization’s private sector membership. 

Kay brings over 15 years of economic development, local government management, and fundraising experience to the MBREDC. Prior to assuming his role with the MBREDC in 2015, Kay worked as Director of Economic Development for Santee Cooper, a state-owned water and electric utility company, and also previously served as City Manager for the cities of Washington, NC and Clinton, SC.

Sandy Davis

Vice President & COO


Sandy Davis is a Horry County native and a graduate of Coastal Carolina University. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2004, she entered the workforce with Horry Telephone Cooperative. Prior to working for the MBREDC, Davis worked in accounting and taught at Horry Georgetown Technical College. In her position as the Vice President and COO, she is responsible for accounting, human resources, project management, and providing support to the MBREDC.

Sherri Steele

Director of Investor Relations


Sherri Steele graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor’s of Science in 2008. She then entered the workforce full time doing sales for a local health facility where she was promoted to Membership Director during her stay with them for seven years. After taking some time off for family, she joined the MBREDC in July 2016 part time and was then promoted to Director of Investor Relations in April 2017. In this role, Steele is responsible for working with our current members, member events, and recruiting new supporters and investors of the MBREDC.

Lacey Dorman

Operations Assistant


Lacey Dorman is a Horry County native. She received an associate’s degree in science from Horry Georgetown Technical College in 2016, and then graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration in 2017. While earning her degrees, she interned with the MBREDC for three years and is now full time as an Administrative Assistant.
